Inspiring Female Founder Story

Only 9 months out of college, our founder Nicole Wang decided to challenge everything told to young girls and founded her own finance company. It was 2008, and a bold move rife with lots of question marks.

While launching it, Nicole started something else – a family. Mom and CEO, Nicole found making a house into a home right for her style and life to be overwhelming, hard, and expensive. Wanting to feel happiest at home with her kids meant heartache to furnish it first.

Inspired to keep questioning traditional ideas after her finance company IPOed, Nicole moved to California to study at Stanford where she met our co-founders, Xiao and Shi. And, she had to make home again. Rather than become frustrated, Collov came to be in late 2019.
